Eli's 1st Birthday Party

One of our best friends' little boy, Eli, celebrated his 1st birthday last Saturday.  It was a really hot day, so they had a giant blowup water slide outside.  Emma was too little to get up the slide by herself, but she had lots of fun splashing in the water and Jared helped her go down the slide a few times.

It has been a long time since I've made a "big" cake, but I really wanted to do something special for them.  There is no way I would have been able to do it without Jared's help!  He entertained Emma while I worked on it.  There wasn't really a theme to the party, so they told me to do whatever I felt like doing (Jared was sure to tell them that it was a My Little Pony cake :)).  I've been seeing tons of these giant cupcake cakes and I have always thought they were so cute.  They actually even make a giant cupcake pan now, but I was not going to spend a lot of $$$ on a pan I'll only use once.  Anyway, this is how it turned out.  The cake was vanilla buttermilk and there were matching chocolate cupcakes to go with it.  I may not have the time to make lots of cakes anymore, but it is fun when I can spend a little time being creative with cake :)
This boy can put down some cake!  He demolished the entire 5" smash cake in no time.  There was absolutely none left!!!  Only crumbs on his tray!  I was so surprised!  Emma hardly touched her smash cake.

20 weeks!

I figured it was about time to post a belly pic.  Should be fun to see how big I get by the end!  I've been feeling good these days...just get a little tired and achy if I'm on my feet too long, but other than that it's all good!  Right now I'm drinking a lot of limeade and lemonade (which will all change if I'm a gestational diabetic again- boo!), eating tons of watermelon and my daily dose of ice cream.  Really healthy diet I have going on right now.  Every now and then I'll get a random craving- like chinese food or hamburgers or pizza.  At least it makes it easy when deciding what to eat for dinner!  I'm feeling the boys move a lot now.  Not really at the same time yet, but sometimes one of them will be doing flips or kicking me on one side and later I'll feel the other one on the opposite side.  Then there are times when I feel movement in the middle, so it is hard to tell which baby I'm feeling.

Belly full of...

BOYS!!!  We are having 2 two boys, how crazy is that?!  We are so excited, although I'm not really sure what to do with boys, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.  I'm going to need plenty of advice from all you mommas of boys!
The ultrasound went great.  Everything looked perfect and the babies are growing well!  Praise God!  We are so very thankful.  They were both measuring 19 weeks (I was 18 1/2 weeks), 9 oz and 7 in long.  They were both facing each other most of the time and kicking each other with their tiny feet!  We didn't get a good pic of Baby B's profile, but here is one of Baby A (see that little foot sticking up?  He is kicking Baby B)
So I guess all the old wives tales are true for me.  I was never very sick in the beginning of this pregnancy, and both of their heartrates are low- 130s.  Of course with Emma I was really sick and her heartrate was always really high.
Jared is already thinking of all the fun things he can teach and do with 2 boys!  It makes me excited to think about that too!

Memorial Day Weekend

Before I get to the pics- tommorow is the big day!  We are so excited to see these precious babies and are just praying that they are both healthy and perfectly formed.  We've decided to wait until Monday to post the sex of baby A and B because we want to tell family and friends that we'll see over the weekend in-person.  So check back on Monday for the big news!  I think it is going to be hilarious if it is two girls because almost no one seems to think that they are both girls (including me)!

Now here are some pics from our fun weekend.  We went up to the lake to visit MiMi (Jared's mother) and Emma LOVED the water!  She let me know that she was NOT happy when we got out of the water.

Emma's hair is finally starting to get longer, so we have been trying out some new hair styles.  I'm lovin the piggy tails.
Jared had to work on Memorial Day, but Emma and I went over to Pop Pop and De-De's house for some yummy food and fun time with the family.  They made an enormous amount of food.  It was all so delicious and I was stuffed by the time we left.
De-De always has lots of books at her house!  Emma was trying to "eat" the cupcake in this 1-2-3 book.  Which reminds me that Emma has been counting a lot lately.  Not so much in the right order, but she can get 1,2,3.  Then she usually says 6, 5, 8, or 10.  She's also started learning some letters too.
Emma having fun with Pop Pop.
Emma with De-De and Pop Pop.  This was at the end of the day and she was so very tired.
It was a great weekend.  She had several meltdowns, but she also has 4 teeth cutting through right now.  Poor thing.  Hope they come through quickly for everyone's sake!
